Danny Howard (from BBC Radio 1) to be in the Guinness Book of Records!

Danny-Howard

Not content with just spinning records across the globe, Danny Howard now has a potential world record in his sights and to set it, he’s heading back home – to Blackpool – where he’s planning to take his already impressive career to dizzying new heights. Literally.

On Thursday 8th August, Danny will play his first gig on home turf since winning that competition at Radio 1. Fresh off the back of a summer residency in Ibiza, Danny’s spirits will understandably be high; fitting, considering he’s officially launching the SKYWALK Sunset Sessions by becoming the first DJ to play at the top of the Blackpool Tower.

The SKYWALK Sunset Sessions is a five-night collaboration between the Blackpool Tower and North-West clubnight promoters Randy Ron, taking place each Saturday in August against the inimitable panoramic views that you can only get at the top of Blackpool’s iconic Tower; the SKYWALK Sessions will see Danny hoping to set the world record for “performing a DJ set at the highest height” – 412ft from the pavement, to be precise.

Blackpool Tower

With a capacity of only 150 people, incredible views of the sunset from the solid-glass SKYWALK and top-end production with a whole host of live entertainment, you can be sure that this will be one of Danny’s most intimate and exciting gigs to date. The five exclusive events over August will feature some of the country’s top DJs as well as supporting the area’s most talented up-and-coming artists.

Head of operations for The Blackpool Tower Eye, Kenny Mew said that “Welcoming Danny Howard back to Blackpool and both making history and hopefully setting a world record is really exciting and a fantastic way to launch the SKYWALK Sunset Sessions to the world” and to be fair, we couldn’t have put it much better ourselves.

As with every Danny Howard gig, expectations are high, in fact – they’re 412ft high. Tickets are extremely limited for this one so don’t sleep on it; reach for the lasers and put your hands in the air – just don’t look down.
