Nicky Romero Develops New Production Plug-in Called Kickstart

The Protocol Recordings founder, Nicky Romero, develops a new production plug-in called Kickstart, powered by Cableguys. In every aspect of his life – as DJ, producer and label head – Romero is a tireless advocate for his art. He now embraces another facet of his passion and provides producers with a valuable method for improving their workflow. Kickstart is the fastest way to get the signature sidechain effect that is an essential tool used by top-notch producers of all types to help bring out kick drums and bass. Kickstart is available for purchase at $15/€10 or as a free trial download.

Nicky Romero and Cableguys have come together to bring a fresh sidechain plug-in to the producer community. Sidechain compression is used to rhythmically change the volume of audio channels to provide space and definition. The kick drum and bass stand out only when the effect is implemented. Kickstart has a big Mix control, 16 hand-crafted modulation curves, a precise oscilloscope, and can run synced or retriggered via MIDI, with loop and one-shot modes all available. Forget complicated compressor routings, producers can simply drop Kickstart on their channels and be ready to go.

You can use Kickstart in any VST or AU sequencer such as Ableton Live, Logic, Cubase, Fruity Loops, etc. For PC+Mac, 32/64bit, VST/AU.
